No kidding, there was a period in time where gaming was partially about gaming but mostly about hanging out with a community of individuals doing something entertaining.. I've played these new games, on PS3 and PC and its nothing but corporate provided servers, whiney kids, shouting in the mic, and bs.. Its really a shame.

+1

I cant stand these console games and even when i do play them online, everyone is muted. Its a shame Insanity Ward killed their PC online communities w/ MW2. Well, those that didn't revert back to MW1 that is. There are still a ton of cs communities alive and kicking tho, but its better when your playing with people you already know/ are well established with.

How old was his 56k server? I've had some sort of broadband connection for ages now, I can't imagine anyone using a 56k much less playing on one.

if i remember right his 56k server were pretty popular for most of the time wickednet servers were up,

there was still a ton of people playing on 56k, most of them were kids whos parents were not getting them broadband or people who lived in boonies before dish broadband

I remember i played on there for like a week when my dsl modem crapped out and was waiting for a new one, playing on 56k against a bunch of 56k players was intresting

Yo yo Xe is back. Long time since I've seen everyone. Still playing CS 1.6, CSS, and CODMW2 and COD4.
Here are some servers I hang out in sometimes:

CSS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
69.12.109.40:27015 INFExXxIOUS-GAMERS!!! 24/7 DUST2 NO AWPS/AUTOS
69.12.108.100:27015 ]TPG[ 24/7 Dust2 500FPS|16k|HlstatsX|
98.143.146.18:27015 24/7 Dust2 n00bsalad.net|No Lag|No Bots|HLSTATS|66 TICK|

COD4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
208.167.243.23:28960 [FIRE]ZOOYORK

I lost my CS 1.6 favorites.

Wow, that's a blast from the past, 56k is where I started my CS career, It was awful for like 6 months cuz I used a 14.4k modem and I lagged like hell, haha. Had several different names I used before I settled on one, the only two I can remember are Setinel and Rancid Meatbag, couldn;t tell if either of those names were in the video though.

56k, where I started. Used to love those days, besides the wait to get in

Weird. Never thought at the time (10 years ago) that I'd still be in touch with the likes of Mahony and Tyrant. I remember GW 56k being my first home after wandering from server to server for a bit.

Yea that's where I met Kneecaps, the first Creep recruit and definitely our best player by far.

Him and I spent many hours when GW went empty after ridiculous hours of playtime, Knee and Kode and I still play stuff together alot and my son has grown up to be quite the gamer's challenge, jesus he's 18 already.....wtf happened?

Damnit, I feel old again, thanks.....
