Are there any direct downloads (legit) or do you have to go retail and buy the box, etc?

They have a digital download option, so you can buy it online. If you buy a physical copy, you also have the ability to download the client once you activate the key with your Battle.net account.

I recommend going out and getting the game .. The direct download is taking forever.. goddamn my laziness - this is after ~20hrs of downloading ..

i preordered, but it took 3 damn days for it to ship to me. got it today.
